Summary: Industrial development and increased energy requirements have led to high consumption of fossil fuels, resulting in environmental pollution. Coffee industry residues, such as spent coffee grounds and silver skin, contain organic compounds which can be used for biofuel production and other purposes. Studies show that coffee grounds are an excellent biomass raw material, suitable for thermal conversion systems.

Summary: Using spent coffee grounds as a polymer filler is a cheap, sustainable, and biodegradable solution. Studies have shown that the performance of SCG filler differs from cellulose fiber-based composites, with properties varying significantly based on loading. Composite materials with high SCG loadings biodegrade twice as fast as neat PBS materials.
