Grafting nanometer metal/oxide interface towards enhanced low-temperature acetylene semi-hydrogenation

Shihui Zou et al.

Summary: The metal/oxide interface is crucial for heterogeneous catalysis, as demonstrated by the construction of a nanometer Pd/Bi2O3 interface and its essential catalytic roles in low-temperature semi-hydrogenation. The hybrid cluster ensemble features a small Pd-Pd coordination number and a Pd-Bi spatial correlation, leading to significant weakening of ethylene adsorption while maintaining hydrogen activation, resulting in high selectivity and conversion rates.

Integration of Bimetallic Electronic Synergy with Oxide Site Isolation Improves the Selective Hydrogenation of Acetylene

Fang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a Ga2O3-coated Ag@Pd core-shell bimetallic nanoparticle catalyst was shown to significantly improve ethylene selectivity while maintaining activity, with excellent long-term stability. The catalyst also demonstrated higher H-2 activation activity compared to Pd1Ag SAAs, enhancing hydrogenation activity simultaneously.

Improvement of Oxygen Reduction Performance in Alkaline Media by Tuning Phase Structure of Pd-Bi Nanocatalysts

Ming Zhou et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that tuning the crystal phase of bimetallic nanocrystals can enhance their catalytic performance and stability in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The monoclinic structured Pd5Bi2 nanocrystals show superior ORR activity in alkaline media and maintain high mass activity even after durability testing. Structural characterizations confirm the excellent retention of size, morphology, composition, and crystal phase of the monoclinic Pd5Bi2/C nanocrystals, highlighting their potential as efficient electrocatalysts.
