Metamorphoses of Cesium Lead Halide Nanocrystals

Stefano Toso et al.

Summary: Colloidal cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals offer easy synthesis and color-pure photoluminescence, but their stability issues and unwanted reactivity pose challenges. The chemistry of these nanocrystals is characterized by intricate patterns of shapes and compositions, and they readily transform under physical stimuli or chemical agents. The ability of these nanocrystals to undergo ion exchanges and trade neutral species with the surrounding environment allows for precise control of their properties and structure.

Halide Perovskite-Lead Chalcohalide Nanocrystal Heterostructures

Muhammad Imran et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel method for synthesizing colloidal CsPbX3-Pb4S3Br2 (X = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystal heterostructures, demonstrating a sharp and atomically resolved epitaxial interface between a metal halide perovskite and a non-perovskite lattice. Density functional theory calculations and spectroscopic experiments confirm the characteristics of the heterostructures and the improved stability.

Colloidal quantum dot lasers

Young-Shin Park et al.

Summary: Semiconductor nanocrystals, also known as colloidal quantum dots, offer promising properties for optical-gain media that can be manipulated via colloidal techniques. Recent advances in understanding and controlling light amplification processes have led to breakthroughs in optically pumped continuous-wave lasing and development of novel dual-function electroluminescent devices that also function as optically pumped lasers. This review evaluates the state of colloidal quantum dot lasing and discusses challenges and opportunities in the field.

Ultrasonically-prepared copper-doped cesium halide nanocrystals with bright and stable emission

Jingkun Xu et al.

Summary: This study presents copper-doped cesium halide nanocrystals with good stability and high photoluminescence quantum yields, offering a new member of the lead-free NC family. A simple single-step ultrasonic synthesis method was used to prepare environmentally friendly Cu:CsX NCs. By adjusting the halide composition, the emission wavelength of Cu:CsX can be modified.
