Nurses Burnout, Resilience, and Its Association With Socio-Demographic Factors During COVID-19 Pandemic

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between resilience and burnout in nurses. The findings showed that nurses experienced severe symptoms of burnout and had a moderate level of resilience. Emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment were significantly negatively correlated with resilience. Demographic characteristics were found to be major predictors of burnout sub-categories. There was a significant negative correlation between burnout and resilience, highlighting the role of resilience in reducing burnout.

Stress and coping styles among nursing students during the initial period of the clinical practicum: A cross-section study

Summary: This study aimed to explore the level of stress, types of stressors, type of coping styles, and factors influencing stress levels and coping styles among nursing students during the initial period of the clinical practicum. The results showed that nursing students perceived a moderate level of stress, and the need for knowledge and skills was the most common source of stress. Most nursing students adopted positive coping styles. Undergraduate nursing students, only children, and those who chose nursing major involuntarily experienced higher stress levels. Male nursing students and those experiencing higher stress levels related to the environment and equipment of the wards and the nature and content of the work were more likely to use negative coping styles.
