Wireless battery recharging through UAV in wireless sensor networks

Mohit Angurala et al.

Summary: This paper presents a three-step mechanism to prolong the lifetime of sensor nodes by combining topology selection, recharging, and load balancing. The proposed method achieves high recharging rates and better energy efficiency by implementing JERLB on different topologies, and utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for data collection and high-rate recharging. Experimental results demonstrate that compared to existing techniques, the overall throughput is doubled and the average remaining energy shows significant savings when varying data rates are applied.
