Characterization of boronized layers on Vanadis 6 tool steel

Mourad Keddam et al.

Summary: After boronizing treatment of Vanadis 6 steel, the obtained boronized layers had thicknesses ranging from 4 to 133 µm, exhibiting growth following the parabolic growth law. The boronized layers were two-phase (FeB + Fe2B) with the presence of a small amount of chromium boride. The Charpy impact toughness of the steel was reduced by approximately 95% due to the presence of the boronized layers.

Effect of refractory elements on boronizing properties of the CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy

Sezgin Cengiz

Summary: This study investigated the effect of refractory elements Ti and Nb on the boronizing behavior of CoCrFeNi alloys, finding that their presence led to a decrease in boride layer thickness and the formation of a smooth morphology at the interface of the boride layer on the alloys.

Effect of Mo doping on the gaseous hydrogen embrittlement of a CoCrNi medium-entropy alloy

Jiang Yi et al.

Summary: Mo-doping can improve both the strength and hydrogen resistance of CoCrNi medium-entropy alloy by promoting a twinning-dominated deformation process, which suppresses the redistribution of hydrogen concentration by dislocation motion, and thus inhibits hydrogen-induced grain boundary decohesion.

Effects of oxidation on friction and wear properties of eutectic high-entropy alloy AlCoCrFeNi2.1

Tri Dinh Vo et al.

Summary: Dual phase high-entropy alloys formed by eutectic transformation from the melt exhibit a greater balance in strength and ductility compared to conventional single-phase HEAs. High-temperature oxidation behavior significantly influences the friction and wear properties of these alloys, with the development of oxide scale playing a major role in the transition from abrasive to adhesive wear mechanisms above 700 degrees C.
