A novel and sustainable technique to precipitate vanadium from vanadium-rich solutions via efficient ultrasound irradiation

Bo Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel and environmentally friendly technique of using ultrasound to enhance the ammonium salt precipitation process of vanadium was proposed. The results showed that the ultrasound precipitation method can achieve similar vanadium precipitation rate and purity compared to the regular precipitation method, while significantly reducing the reaction time and ammonium salt consumption. The products obtained by ultrasound precipitation method also exhibited more uniform particle size distribution and regular crystal shape.

Natural and Low-CostP. turgidumfor Efficient Adsorption of Hg(II) Ions from Contaminated Solution: Isotherms and Kinetics Studies

A. Hashem et al.

Summary: The adsorbent prepared from Panicum turgidum roots efficiently removes mercury (II) ions from water, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 333.33 mg/g achieved at 30 degrees C. The adsorption process is promoted by the high density of active sites and is independent of the adsorbent surface area. The experimental data fits best with the Freundlich isotherm and pseudo-first-order model. This indicates that Panicum turgidum is a potential adsorbent for wastewater treatment.

Separation and adsorption of V(V) from canadium-containing solution by TOMAC-impregnated resins

Chen Yu et al.

Summary: TOMAC-IRs are effective in separating and recovering vanadium from acidic solutions, achieving a high adsorption capacity of 78.65 mg/g for V(V). The adsorption process is chemically controlled, and the TOMAC-IRs demonstrate good stability during cyclic adsorption of V(V).
