Early prenatal diagnosis of double inlet left ventricle

Summary: The study aimed to describe the presentation of double inlet left ventricle (DILV) very early in prenatal life, assess its prevalence, and portray associated anomalies. Out of 26,805 early prenatal transvaginal ultrasound screenings, 14 cases of DILV were diagnosed, with a gestational age range of 9-16 weeks. All pregnancies were terminated as per parental request, with some fetuses undergoing chromosomal analysis and autopsy to confirm the diagnosis.

Summary: The study found a high survival rate for prenatally diagnosed ccTGA patients, with an average gestational age of 25.6 weeks at diagnosis. Among the 54 patients with confirmed diagnosis, 96% survived to birth, and 94% survived based on an intention-to-treat basis. Most patients had additional intracardiac and extracardiac anomalies present after birth.
