This study reviews the progress of nickel-catalyzed hydroamination reactions, including both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic systems. Nickel complexes have shown low cost, non-toxicity, and unique reactivity in this reaction.
Hydroamination is a valuable method for the synthesis of synthetically relevant nitrogen-containing compounds including amines, imines or enamines. Owing to the low cost, non-toxicity, and unique reactivity, Nickel complexes are explored as catalysts in hydroamination in the last decades. This review encompasses various nickel complexes in both heterogeneous and homogeneous systems. The homo-geneous catalytic systems comprise Ni-nitrogen, Ni-phosphorus and Ni-NHC based catalysts. This is the first review that solely discusses nickel catalyzed hydroamination of C-C multiple bonded substrates and covers literature up to 2021.(c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
