Molecularly imprinte d polypyrrole base d sensor for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein

Vilma Ratautaite et al.

Summary: This study describes the use of a polypyrrole-based sensor for detecting SARS-CoV-2-S spike glycoprotein. The sensor with molecularly imprinted polymer technology shows higher sensitivity and selectivity towards the spike glycoprotein compared to a sensor without imprints. It demonstrates the potential application of molecularly imprinted MIP-Ppy-based sensors for detecting SARS-CoV-2 virus proteins.

Towards electrochemical surface plasmon resonance sensor based on the molecularly imprinted polypyrrole for glyphosate sensing

Domas Balciunas et al.

Summary: This research utilized molecular imprinting technology to create a glyphosate-sensitive layer for an electrochemical surface plasmon resonance (ESPR) sensor. The study revealed the restrictions and challenges encountered during the development of glyphosate ESPR sensor using molecularly imprinted polymer. It was found that glyphosate interfered with the deposition process of the polymer, but the problem was partially overcome by using a self-assembled monolayer before deposition. The dissociation constant and free energy of Gibbs values for the glyphosate-MIPpy interaction were calculated.

Aptamer-Based Solution-Gated Graphene Transistors for Highly Sensitive and Real-Time Detection of Thrombin Molecules

Haiyang Yu et al.

Summary: Thrombin detection using solution-gated graphene transistors (SGGTs) with ssDNA aptamers immobilized on the gate electrode achieved high sensitivity, with a limit of detection up to fM. The sensitivity was attributed to the folding of ssDNA induced by thrombin molecules and the electropositivity of thrombin molecules, providing a promising sensing strategy for medical diagnosis.

Thrombin generation in vivo and ex vivo in sickle cell disease patients

Valeria Sutana Ladeira et al.

Summary: Activation of coagulation is a key feature of sickle cell disease (SCD), with hypercoagulability believed to play a role in the disease's pathophysiology. This study evaluated thrombin generation in vivo and ex vivo in SCD patients, finding higher D-Di levels and resistance to APC in patients compared to controls, indicating a state of hypercoagulability in patients. Comparing users and non-users of Hydroxyurea, there were no significant differences in D-Di levels and most thrombin generation parameters.

Molecularly imprinted nanofilms for endotoxin detection using an surface plasmon resonance sensor

Duygu Cimen et al.

Summary: A simple, fast, sensitive and selective surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor was prepared for endotoxin detection using molecular imprinting method. The sensor showed a limit of detection and quantification of 0.023 and 0.078 ng/mL, respectively, with a response time of approximately 14 minutes. Selectivity studies with cholesterol and hemoglobin, as well as validation studies using limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL), demonstrated the applicability of the SPR sensor for endotoxin detection.
