Lower-Risk Cannabis Use Guidelines (LRCUG) for reducing health harms from non-medical cannabis use: A comprehensive evidence and recommendations update

Benedikt Fischer et al.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive assessment of the health risks associated with cannabis use and develops low-risk cannabis use guidelines. Based on the latest scientific evidence, it is recommended that individuals delay the onset of cannabis use, avoid high-potency and high-frequency products, and refrain from smoking. Special attention should be given to young people and other sub-groups when using cannabis. The results of the evaluation indicate that reducing risk factors can help minimize health harms from cannabis use.

An overview of select cannabis use and supply indicators pre- and post-legalization in Canada

Benedikt Fischer et al.

Summary: Preliminary indicators on cannabis legalization in Canada show a mixed picture, some similar to US-based developments. While some use increases are observed, these do not necessarily represent indications of increases in cannabis-related harm, also since key (e.g., hospitalization or injury) data are lacking to date. There is a gradual embracing of legal supply sources of cannabis among users, which can be expected to serve public health and safety objectives. At the same time, cannabis use and access among under-age users as a principally vulnerable group do not appear to be hindered or reduced by legalization.

Cannabis Use and Car Crashes: A Review

Ulrich W. Preuss et al.

Summary: Studies indicate a slightly increased risk of traffic crashes after acute cannabis use, particularly with high THC blood concentrations. Most studies do not support a relationship between lower THC concentrations and crash risk. Further research is needed to determine the dose-response effects on driving skills and crash risk.

Interventions to Reduce Intimate Partner Violence Perpetration by Men Who Use Substances: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Efficacy

Summary: There is limited evidence on effective interventions for male IPV perpetrators who use substances, and integrated interventions did not show superior outcomes compared to treatment as usual in meta-analysis. Future trials should consider key factors in intervention design and outcome measurement.
