Fish gills inspired parallel-cell triboelectric nanogenerator

Peilun Yin et al.

Summary: A parallel-cell triboelectric nanogenerator (PC-TENG) is proposed in this study, which outperforms the serially connected zigzag structure-based triboelectric nanogenerator (Z-TENG) in terms of power output and has a higher power density. The frequency and reciprocating distance of the excitation are found to positively affect the output of the PC-TENG.

Energy harvesting of a fluid-conveying piezoelectric pipe

Ze-Qi Lu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates nonlinear energy harvesting from fluid-conveying piezoelectric pipes for self-powered sensing, and discusses the influence of fluid velocity on energy harvesting. A distributed parameter electromechanical model and harmonic-balance analysis are employed to derive the output frequency response functions and system transfer functions of the pipes. The results demonstrate that the displacement, voltage, current, and power can be increased by adjusting the excitation amplitude and damping coefficient. These findings are important for self-powered sensing applications.

Resonance magnetoelectric effect in a composite ferromagnet-dielectric-piezoelectric Langevin-type resonator

Dmitry Saveliev et al.

Summary: The direct and converse magnetoelectric effects in a Langevin-type resonator were observed and investigated for the first time. Nonlinear ME effects such as frequency doubling, frequency mixing, and resonance frequency shift were observed at high field amplitudes, and both direct and converse ME effects in the resonator were controlled by an external dc magnetic field.
