Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the mental health of adolescents. This study found that psychosocial resources such as humor styles, emotion regulation, social support, optimism, and purpose in life can serve as protective factors against mental health issues related to the pandemic. Adolescents high in humor and cognitive reappraisal may be particularly resilient to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and other prolonged stressors.
