Flotation performance of a novel Gemini collector for kaolinite at low temperature

Shiyong Zhang et al.

Summary: This study introduced a novel amino-based Gemini surfactant BBDB as a collector for kaolinite flotation, which showed better performance than the common monomolecular surfactant DDA at low temperature. The tests results indicated that BBDB could significantly improve the hydrophobicity of the kaolinite surface and achieve higher kaolinite recovery rates compared to DDA.

Activation mechanism of lead ions in the flotation of sulfidized azurite with xanthate as collector

Qian Zhang et al.

Summary: The addition of lead ions after sulfidization of azurite with Na2S improved the flotation recovery of copper oxide ores containing azurite. Zeta potential determination indicated that chemisorption occurred when the sulfidized azurite surface was modified with lead ions. The ToF-SIMS analysis showed the presence of S-, S-2(-), SO3-, and Pb2+ ions on the azurite surface.

Investigation on the flotation separation of smithsonite from calcite using calcium lignosulphonate as depressant

Huafeng Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, calcium lignosulphonate was utilized as a selective depressant for the flotation separation of smithsonite and calcite, achieving optimal results at pH 10. Investigation into the interaction mechanism revealed that CLS chemically absorbed on the calcite surface, hindering the successive NaOl adsorption, while barely affecting smithsonite.

Utilization of polyepoxysuccinic acid as a green depressant for the flotation separation of smithsonite from calcite

Cheng Liu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that PESA can be used as a selective depressant for calcite in the flotation of smithsonite, achieving efficient separation. PESA prevented the adsorption of NaOl on the calcite surface, forming a weak interaction with the smithsonite surface, allowing NaOl to still be easily absorbed.

Innovative application of sodium tripolyphosphate for the flotation separation of scheelite from calcite

Xu Wang et al.

Summary: Sodium tripolyphosphate shows potential as a depressant for selectively separating scheelite from calcite in flotation process. Selective adsorption of sodium tripolyphosphate on calcite inhibits the further adsorption of FX-6, preventing calcite flotation while maintaining scheelite floatability. Sodium tripolyphosphate could be a promising alternative depressant for scheelite-calcite flotation separation.

Wengang Liu et al.

Summary: The study successfully separated magnesite and dolomite by using an ion-tolerance collector, which showed better collecting ability and selectivity under alkaline conditions and selectively inhibited approximately 15% recovery of dolomite by Ca2+. The mechanism analysis revealed that the collector had a high surface activity and complexed with Ca2+ by electrostatic interactions to prevent interference in the flotation process.
