Wi-Fi RTT Ranging Performance Characterization and Positioning System Design

Summary: The aim of this research is to implement a precise Wi-Fi indoor positioning system based on the IEEE 802.11mc fine-timing measurement scheme. The study presents a detailed performance evaluation of the Wi-Fi round trip time ranging technique in different system configurations and proposes a novel three-step positioning method to improve accuracy. The experiments show a position accuracy of +/- 1.2 m in 2D static positioning and +/- 1.3 m for dynamic motion tracking.

Summary: The management of an ambulance fleet is crucial for saving as many injured individuals as possible during disastrous situations. This study proposes a mixed-integer linear programming model to optimize the sequence of routes for each ambulance and minimize the service completion time and the number of patients whose condition worsens due to untimely medical services. Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II and multi-objective particle swarm optimization are used to find high-quality solutions in a short time. A case study in Lorestan province, Iran, is conducted to assess the model's performance and provide insightful managerial suggestions.

Pelican Optimization Algorithm: A Novel Nature-Inspired Algorithm for Engineering Applications
