Comparison between NARX-NN and HEC-HMS models to simulate Wadi Seghir catchment runoff events in Algerian northern

Ismahen Kadri et al.

Summary: This paper compares the black box NARX-NN model with the conceptual HEC-HMS model in predicting urban basin runoff. The results show that both models successfully reflect the runoff, but NARX-NN outperforms in producing the shape bending of the hydrograph, highlighting the curvatures resulting from the local peaks of rainfall.

New hybrid GR6J-wavelet-based genetic algorithm-artificial neural network (GR6J-WGANN) conceptual-data-driven model approaches for daily rainfall-runoff modelling

Cenk Sezen et al.

Summary: Rainfall-runoff modeling is significant for water resources management. However, existing models face challenges in dealing with nonlinearity and data requirements. This study proposes two hybrid models that integrate the advantages of conceptual and data-driven models, leading to more accurate forecasting results.
