Strong magnon-photon coupling with chip-integrated YIG in the zero-temperature limit

Paul G. Baity et al.

Summary: The study highlights the importance of cross-integration of spin-wave and superconducting technologies, achieving the integration of YIG and superconducting microwave devices using PFIB technology. It was found that strong coupling between superconducting resonators and YIG ferromagnetic resonance modes was successfully achieved at the micrometer scale.

Equilibrium shapes and floatability of static and vertically vibrated heavy liquid drops on the surface of a lighter fluid

Andrey Pototsky et al.

Summary: We find that a small floating liquid drop has two stable shapes under terrestrial gravity, both with different radii of the triple-phase contact line. Static stability analysis shows that both shapes could be stable if the drop volume is below a certain critical value. Experiments demonstrate the existence of multiple contact line radii for floating water drops on commercial oil.

Spectrally wide acoustic frequency combs generated using oscillations of polydisperse gas bubble clusters in liquids

Bui Quoc Huy Nguyen et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new method for generating wide acoustic combs using oscillations of polydisperse gas bubble clusters in liquids. Numerical simulations demonstrate that clusters consisting of bubbles with controlled sizes can produce wide acoustic spectra with coherent peaks, and remain stable under typical experimental conditions. The spectral composition of the combs can be tuned by adjusting the number and size of bubbles in a cluster.
