T-LEAP: Occlusion-robust pose estimation of walking cows using temporal information

Helena Russello et al.

Summary: As the size of dairy farms increases, automatic health monitoring of cows is becoming more important. This study proposes a temporal model for animal pose estimation, which uses information from past frames to improve accuracy in occluded environments. The results show that the temporal approach outperforms the static approach in the presence of occlusions and unknown cows.
