Chemical looping gasification using Nickel-containing electroplating sludge and dyeing sludge as oxygen carrier

Jing Han et al.

Summary: Nickel-containing electroplating sludge (NiES) and dyeing sludge (DS) were used to prepare oxygen carriers (OCs) for chemical looping gasification (CLG) of DS. The crystal and pore structures of the prepared OCs were investigated, and their elemental composition and reactivity were analyzed. The addition of the two OCs significantly promoted the gas yield of DS while accelerating the gasification process. A high carbon conversion rate and acceptable gas yield could be achieved at a temperature of 850 degrees C. Furthermore, a new harmless method for the recycling treatment of NiES was provided.

Photo-Fenton degradation of tetracycline over Z-scheme Fe-g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 heterojunctions: Mechanism insight, degradation pathways and DFT calculation

Caihua Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a Fe-g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 Z-scheme heterojunction was elaborately designed for the degradation of tetracycline (TC). The performance of H2O2 decomposition in the Z-scheme heterojunction was improved by the doping of iron, enhancing the transportability of photogenerated electrons and facilitating the spread of radicals. The study also found that O-1(2) and center dot O-2- were the main active species participating in the degradation process, according to efficacy analyses and experimental results.
