Summary: Preliminary evidence suggests that greenery around primary schools is positively associated with students' Reading, Numeracy, and Grammar & Punctuation scores, while road traffic density is negatively associated. Traffic-related air pollution plays a mediating role in these associations. Further research is needed to improve exposure assessment and inform town/school planners and educators about optimal school locations for promoting learning.

The association between natural environments and childhood mental health and development: A systematic review and assessment of different exposure measurements

Summary: This systematic review aimed to identify common natural environment metrics used in childhood mental health and development research and assess their association with health outcomes. The most consistent associations were found with NDVI and emotional and behavioral well-being. However, further evaluation of various NE measurements is needed to establish evidence for potential associations between distinct NE exposure metrics and childhood mental health and development.
