Overall, this work offers an alternative strategy for designing novel DES-based membrane materials for flue gas desulfurization.

Unexpectedly efficient absorption of low-concentration SO2 with phase-transition mechanism using deep eutectic solvent consisting of tetraethylammonium chloride and imidazole

Summary: In this study, four inexpensive DESs were designed and prepared for efficient and reversible absorption of SO2, with TEACl-Im (1:3) showing the highest SO2 capacity. The absorption mechanism and phase transition were investigated, revealing the generation and precipitation of SO2-imidazole adduct. Overall, TEACl-Im (1:3) exhibits good absorption performance, especially for low-concentration SO2, providing potential alternatives for flue gas desulfurization.

Solid-state facilitated transport membrane for CO/N2 separation based on PHMEP-co-PAA comb-like copolymer: Experimental and molecular simulation study
