P. R. Gonzalez et al.

Summary: This paper presents the results of a long experimental study on the influence of heating rate on the thermoluminescence phenomenon of MgB4O7:Tm.Dy pellets. The kinetics parameters were determined using the SQPGCD algorithm, and the results suggest that this method provides more accurate values compared to other methods.

Luminescence and kinetics parameters of high sensitivity MgB4O7 phosphor co-doped with Tm and Dy

P. R. Gonzalez et al.

Summary: This study reports the luminescence and kinetics parameters of high sensitivity MgB4O7 phosphor co-doped with Tm and Dy ions obtained by the solution combustion technique. The dosimeters made from this material showed approximately 10 times higher sensitivity compared to commercial dosimeter TLD-100. Analysis of kinetic parameters revealed a wide linearity interval of TL response with respect to gamma dose for MgB4O7:Tm, Dy and low coefficient of variability.

Spectral evidence for defect clustering: Relevance to radiation dosimetry materials

P. D. Townsend et al.

Summary: Experimental evidence shows that defect sites in luminescent materials are complexes extending over multiple lattice sites. Recombination processes in these materials involve charge transfer via both delocalized and localized mechanisms, influenced by various clustering mechanisms and recombination pathways resulting from defect cluster formation. There is no obvious route to optimizing parameters, requiring trial and error through massive experimentation.

INVESTIGATION OF THE TL CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPOSITE PEAK 5 IN THE GLOW CURVE OF LiF:Mg,Ti (TLD-100) USING NATURALLY AND FURNACE-COOLED SAMPLES FOLLOWING THE 400°C PRE-IRRADIATION ANNEAL

Ilan Eliyahu et al.

Summary: The study investigates the thermoluminescent properties of LiF:Mg,Ti (TLD-100) by measuring dose response and deconvolution of glow curves, with a focus on the behavior of glow peaks 4, 5a, and 5. It is found that modifying the dose response of peak 5 to a linear behavior in the range of 1 to 30 Gy is advantageous for clinical therapy, leading to improved accuracy and precision.
