Antibacterial activity of cinnamon and clove oil against wound pathogens

P. Anandhi et al.

Summary: A wound is a complicated health issue that can be severely affected by pathogenic microorganisms. Cinnamon and clove oil have been found to exhibit antibacterial activity against wound pathogens, reducing virulence and pathogenicity of drug-resistant bacteria. The misuse and overuse of antibiotics have contributed to the increase in clinically observed cases of antibiotic resistance.

Comparative Antimicrobial Activity of Copper Nanoparticles and Selenium Nanoparticles Synthesized Using Ficus Benghalensis Against Wound Pathogens

S. M. Sowbaraniya et al.

Summary: The study found that copper and selenium nanoparticles synthesized using Ficus benghalensis showed significant antimicrobial activity against pathogens such as S.aureus & E.coli, with inhibition zone diameters of approximately 18 mm and 22 mm, equivalent to the standard antibiotic Amoxycillin. The research concluded that both copper and selenium nanoparticles exhibited increased antimicrobial activity with higher dosage concentrations when synthesized using Alampattai.

Design, Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity Evaluation of New Bisimidyl Sulfonamido Ketone Comprising Drug component

Zaynab Hussein Fadel et al.

Summary: This research involved the design and synthesis of four new compounds with three biologically active segments, which showed high antibacterial and antifungal activities after screening. The compounds were prepared through multiple steps, starting with the synthesis of compound (1) bis[N-phenyl phthalamic acid] ketone and ending with the preparation of target compounds (4-7) by reacting with different beta-lactam containing drugs.
