Two 2D Co(II)/Mn(II) coordination polymers based on the quinoline-2,3-dicarboxylate ligand: synthesis, crystal structure, and fluorescence properties

Ya-Li Zhao et al.

Summary: A pair of two-dimensional isostructural coordination polymers were synthesized and characterized. The results showed that the polymers form a square-wave 2D network through bridged connections and further extend into 3D stacks through hydrogen bonds and stacking interactions. The polymers exhibit good thermal stability and solid state fluorescence properties.

Summary: Two novel Cd(II) coordination polymers, [Cd(5-EtOip)(4,4'-bipy)](n) (1) and [Cd-2(5BenOip) 2(4,4'-bipy)(H2O)(2)] n (2), were synthesized through hydrothermal reactions and investigated for their potential in treating children bronchopneumonia. The study revealed their mechanisms in regulating inflammatory cytokine levels and NF-kappa b signaling pathway activation through experimental measurements and molecular docking simulations.

A study of GUPT-2, a water-stable zinc-based metal-organic framework as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor in the detection of Al3+ and Fe3+ ions

San-Tai Wang et al.

Summary: The novel luminescent Zn(ii)-based metal-organic framework, GUPT-2, displayed double-interleaved 2D framework with excellent stability and luminescence properties. It selectively detected Fe3+ and Al3+ ions with lower limit of detection values compared to most of reported MOF-based sensors.GUPT-2 exhibited a prominent luminescence color change from faint yellow to bright green under UV irradiation at 360 nm, enhancing the detection of Al3+ ions even in the presence of other interfering ions.
