SCAI cardiogenic shock classification after out of hospital cardiac arrest and association with outcome??

Nilesh Pareek et al.

Summary: Increasing SCAI shock grade after Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest is associated with 30-day mortality, requirement for renal replacement therapy and mortality attributed to multiorgan dysfunction syndrome and cardiac etiology death. Early coronary angiography is significantly associated with reduced mortality only in SCAI grade D patients.

The Range of Cardiogenic Shock Survival by Clinical Stage: Data From the Critical Care Cardiology Trials Network Registry

Patrick R. Lawler et al.

Summary: This study investigated whether the implementation of the 2019 Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions clinical cardiogenic shock staging criteria can discriminate mortality in a contemporary population with or at-risk for cardiogenic shock. The results showed that this staging system effectively stratifies mortality risk and could be leveraged for future clinical research, providing valuable information for risk assessment and treatment selection in patients with cardiogenic shock.
