Distribution of G143A Mutations Conferring Fungicide Resistance in Virginia Populations of Parastagonospora nodorum Infecting Wheat

Navjot Kaur et al.

Summary: This study conducted a survey of Parastagonospora nodorum populations in Virginia wheat and found that the QoI-resistance-conferring G143A mutation was widespread and occurred at a relatively high frequency. The results suggest that fungicides containing QoI active ingredients may not be effective for controlling SNB in Virginia and the surrounding region.

Occurrence of Quinone Outside Inhibitor Resistance in Virginia Populations of Parastagonospora nodorum Infecting Wheat

Navjot Kaur et al.

Summary: Stagonospora nodorum blotch of wheat, caused by Parastagonospora nodorum, is managed using cultural practices, resistant varieties, and foliar fungicides. A study found QoI resistance in P. nodorum from Virginia wheat fields and developed a molecular assay for screening resistant mutations.

Sensitivity of Cercospora sojina to demethylation inhibitor and methyl benzimidazole carbamate fungicides

Guirong Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found no significant changes in sensitivity of C. sojina to flutriafol and tetraconazole, but increased sensitivity to thiophanate methyl. Continued monitoring of C. sojina population sensitivity to DMI and MBC fungicides is recommended based on these results.
