Lipophagy-Related Protein Perilipin-3 and Resistance of Prostate Cancer to Radiation Therapy

Ioannis Lamprou et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of lipophagy-related proteins, PLIN3 and LAL, in the response of prostate cancer to radiation therapy. The results showed that depletion of PLIN3 reduced proliferation and increased radiosensitivity of prostate cancer cells. Overexpression of PLIN3 was associated with a reduced response to radiation therapy and poor prognosis. Depletion of LAL had a lesser effect on radiation therapy.

Transcription factor GTF2B regulates AIP protein expression in growth hormone-secreting pituitary adenomas and influences tumor phenotypes

Feng Cai et al.

Summary: This study reveals the transcriptional regulation of aryl hydrocarbon receptor-interacting protein (AIP) by general transcription factor IIB (GTF2B) in sporadic growth hormone-secreting pituitary adenoma (GHPA) and its impact on tumor phenotype. The findings suggest that GTF2B may serve as a potential therapeutic target for GHPA with low AIP expression.

NLRP3 Inflammasome Blockade Reduces Cocaine-Induced Microglial Activation and Neuroinflammation

Ernest T. Chivero et al.

Summary: Cocaine induces microglial activation through the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway, leading to neuroinflammation. Inhibition of ROS and NLRP3 can attenuate cocaine-induced NLRP3 activation and microglial activation. NLRP3 may be a potential therapeutic target for alleviating cocaine-induced neuroinflammation.

Oridonin ameliorates insulin resistance partially through inhibition of inflammatory response in rats subjected to chronic unpredictable mild stress

Summary: The study revealed that oridonin can ameliorate insulin resistance induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress, reduce macrophage infiltration into the islets, and inhibit NLRP3 activation, highlighting its protective role against CUMS-induced insulin resistance.

A selective NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor attenuates behavioral deficits and neuroinflammation in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease

Shuxuan Huang et al.

Summary: The study indicated that NLRP3, not NLRP1, NLRP2, NLRC4, and AIM2, may be the key inflammasome in promoting MPTP-induced Parkinson's disease pathogenesis. The NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950 showed neuroprotective effects in the MPTP-induced mouse model, suggesting its potential as a novel therapeutic approach for PD.
