Evaluation of Remote Photoplethysmography Measurement Conditions toward Telemedicine Applications

Akito Tohma et al.

Summary: This study investigated the setup for precise HRV measurements using camera-based remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), considering factors like illumination, light direction, camera frame rate, and body motion. Results showed that accurate HRV measurements were achieved with light intensity above 500 lux from the front, and frame rates above 30 fps. Limiting body motion, especially head motion, was found to greatly improve the accuracy of HRV measurements in telemedicine settings.

Non-Contact SpO2 Prediction System Based on a Digital Camera

Ali Al-Naji et al.

Summary: This study proposes a computer vision-based system using a digital camera to measure SpO2 based on iPPG signal extracted from the human forehead without physical contact. The system decomposes the iPPG into different signals using signal decomposition techniques, providing accurate estimation of SpO2 from red and green wavelengths.
