High-precision measurement of the W boson mass with the CDF II detector

T. Aaltonen et al.

Summary: This study measured the mass of the W boson and compared it with the expectation of the standard model of particle physics. The results show a significant discrepancy between the measured value and the expectation.

UV completed composite Higgs model with heavy composite partners

Zi-Yu Dong et al.

Summary: In the study of electroweak symmetry breaking in minimal composite Higgs models, it was found that the extra Higgs potential from preon mass can disrupt the correlation between the mass of Higgs and composite partners, allowing for heavy composite partners without increasing the separation between new physical scale and Higgs vacuum expectation value. Additionally, the UV completion of partial compositeness predicts a light singlet Goldstone boson with interactions with QCD and electroweak gauge bosons, which can be produced through gluon fusion at LHC and decay into gauge boson pairs. Its phenomenology and bounds from LHC searches are briefly discussed.

Probing dark matter self-interaction with ultrafaint dwarf galaxies

Kohei Hayashi et al.

Summary: The study investigates the impact of self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) on 23 ultra-faint dwarf galaxies using stellar kinematics, finding no support for non-zero self-interaction in these galaxies and providing stringent constraints. This challenges the simple halo modeling of SIDM and highlights the need for further research on the subhalo dynamical evolution of SIDM.
