The composition of the fluid phase in inclusions in synthetic HPHT diamonds grown in system Fe-Ni-Ti-C

Valeri Sonin et al.

Summary: Through studying the composition of fluid phase in synthetic diamonds, it was found that the addition of titanium can decrease the nitrogen content in diamonds, and nitrogen mainly concentrates as nitrogenated hydrocarbons. The presence of titanium increases the hydrogen fugacity in the metal melt, which reduces the solubility of nitrogen and leads to the formation of colorless diamonds with low nitrogen content.

Evaluation of incidental testicular dose with thermoluminescence dosimetry during prostate radiotherapy

Osman Vefa Gul et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the incidental testicular doses during prostate radiotherapy. The results showed significant differences in testicular doses between whole pelvis radiotherapy and prostate radiotherapy. Testicular doses decreased significantly with increasing isocenter-testis distance. The incidental testicular dose during prostate radiotherapy can have a detrimental effect on spermatogenesis. Therefore, the testicles should be considered as an organ at risk in treatment planning, and in vivo dosimetry is recommended for accurate measurement of testicular dose.

Growth-sector dependence of morphological, structural and optical features in boron-doped HPHT diamond crystals

V. V. Strelchuk et al.

Summary: Semiconducting boron-doped diamond single crystals with different crystal faces were obtained using solution-melt crystallization at high pressure and temperatures. The boron concentration was controlled to vary the electro-physical properties of the crystals, while nanoscale morphological features on different crystal faces reflected the peculiarities of carbon dissolution at high pressures and temperatures.

Effect of Ni2O3 on diamond crystal growth in an Fe-Ni-C system under high temperature and high pressure

Peiyang Mu et al.

Summary: Studying the influence of oxygen on the growth and properties of diamond, large single crystals of oxygen-containing diamond were successfully synthesized by adding Ni2O3. The presence of Ni2O3 increased nitrogen content in diamonds, changed the morphology of diamonds, and caused a red shift in Raman peak position.
