Effect of annealing temperature on SnS thin films for photodetector applications

Devarajan Alagarasan et al.

Summary: The influence of annealing temperature on the composition, structure, morphology, and optical properties of tin sulfide thin films was investigated. Single-phase SnS films were confirmed to form at room temperature and annealed up to 300 degrees C. The film annealed at 200 degrees C exhibited better morphology with (111) preferred oriented crystallites.

The impact of fluence dependent proton ion irradiation on the structural and optical properties of Bi5In30Se65 thin films for nonlinear optical devices

P. Priyadarshini et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effects of ion irradiation on the structure and optical properties of thermally evaporated Bi5In30Se65 thin films. The results show that ion irradiation changes the surface morphology and increases defects and disorder in the films. The optical parameters also change with the irradiation dose, which is significant for nonlinear optical applications.

Optimization of different temperature annealed nanostructured CdSe thin film for photodetector applications

Devarajan Alagarasan et al.

Summary: In this study, the photo sensing performance of a highly sensitive CdSe-based photodetector prepared using thermal evaporation method was analyzed, with a focus on the effect of post-annealing on its crystalline, morphological, optical, and photo-electrical properties. The results showed that varying annealing temperatures led to changes in the bandgap values of the CdSe films, with the film annealed at 300 degrees C exhibiting good photo-response and optical properties suitable for photodetector applications.

Influence of nanostructured SnS thin films for visible light photo detection

Devarajan Alagarasan et al.

Summary: SnS thin films were deposited on glass substrates at different temperatures using vacuum thermal evaporation, and their structural, electrical, and optical properties were studied. The films exhibited orthorhombic crystal structure, with optical properties improving with increasing substrate temperature. The optical band gap values ranged from 1.843 to 2.075 eV, and the visible photoresponsivity and specific detectivity of the films increased with higher substrate temperatures.

Impact of in/ex situ annealing and reaction temperature on structural, optical and electrical properties of SnS thin films

M. A. Olgar et al.

Summary: In this study, SnS thin films were prepared using in situ and ex situ annealing processes at different temperatures. It was found that in situ annealing at 375 degrees Celsius showed more promising results for potential SnS-based photovoltaic applications. In addition to the SnS phase, the formation of SnS2 phase was observed in in situ annealed samples.

Optimization of linear and nonlinear optical parameters of As40Se50Te10 thin films by thermal annealing

D. Sahoo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of annealing on the optical properties of As40Se50Te10 thin films, showing an increase in both linear and nonlinear optical constants. Additionally, XPS and Raman spectroscopy revealed a conversion of heteropolar to homopolar bonds. Therefore, annealing temperature can be utilized as a significant tool in controlling the optical constants of these chalcogenide films.
