Summary: In central vision, adding contrast-reversed dots to a noisy random-dot stereogram can enhance or degrade depth perception, depending on the congruency with normal depth signals. This phenomenon reflects the Feedforward-Feedback-Verify-and-reWeight process for visual inference in central vision, demonstrating a stronger top-down feedback to disambiguate inputs from V1.
