Automated segmentation of the opt ic disc from fundus images using an asymmetric deep learning network

Lei Wang et al.

Summary: A novel deep learning network for accurately identifying optic disc regions in color fundus images was proposed. By integrating a unique sub-network and decoding convolutional block into the classical U-Net framework, the segmentation accuracy and reliability of optic disc regions were improved. Compared to three other classical networks, the developed network demonstrated relatively higher performance in segmenting optic disc regions.
