Plasmonic Biosensor With Gold and Titanium Dioxide Immobilized on Photonic Crystal Fiber for Blood Composition Detection

Vijay Shanker Chaudhary et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) based plasmonic biosensor for the detection of various blood compositions. The biosensor operates on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) theory and utilizes gold and titanium dioxide coatings on the PCF to enhance sensitivity. The proposed biosensor has high wavelength sensitivity and can detect different blood compositions based on their refractive index.

Convex fiber-tapered seven core fiber-convex fiber (CTC) structure-based biosensor for creatinine detection in aquaculture

Muyang Li et al.

Summary: This article proposes an optical fiber sensor probe based on the localized surface plasma resonance (LSPR) technique for the detection of creatinine in aquaculture. The sensor probe is functionalized using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), niobium carbide (Nb(2)CTx) MXene, and creatinase (CA) enzyme. The probe modifies the intrinsic total internal reflection (TIR) mechanism to increase evanescent field intensity and thus enhance sensitivity. The specific recognition is improved by Nb(2)CTx MXene adsorbing more active CA enzymes.

Near Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy in Microfluidic Devices With Selectable Pathlength

Valentina Bello et al.

Summary: In this study, a smart micro-opto-fluidic platform based on rectangular-section glass micro-capillaries with integrated reflectors was used for absorption spectroscopy measurements in the near infrared range. The results show that water concentration has a significant impact on the absorption features of the sample. The sensitivity of water is greatly enhanced by the multipath effect in the micro-channel.
