Adaptive weighted Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm for generation of phase-only hologram with artifacts suppression

Yang Wu et al.

Summary: An adaptive weighted GS algorithm is proposed in this paper to address the issue of iteration divergence in the conventional GS algorithm. By replacing the feedback and introducing an approximate quadratic phase, the proposed method improves the peak signal-noise ratio of the reconstructed image and suppresses artifacts in optical reconstruction. Validation through numerical simulations and optical experiments confirms the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Towards real-time photorealistic 3D holography with deep neural networks

Liang Shi et al.

Summary: The ability to present three-dimensional scenes with continuous depth sensation has a profound impact on various fields. Computer-generated holography enables high-resolution 3D projection, but existing methods have limitations. We demonstrate a deep-learning-based pipeline for real-time 3D hologram synthesis from a single RGB-depth image. Our memory-efficient CNN runs on consumer-grade GPUs and mobile devices, promising real-time performance in future AR/VR headsets.

Speckle Suppression Using Cylindrical Self-Diffraction for Cylindrical Phase-Only Hologram

Feng-Ming Jin et al.

Summary: In this study, the issue of speckle noise in cylindrical phase-only hologram (POH) reconstruction caused by random phase addition is discussed, and a cylindrical self-diffraction iteration (CSDI) algorithm is proposed to address this problem. Simulation results show that CSDI can significantly suppress speckle noise and improve the quality of reconstructed images. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional methods in suppressing speckle noise in cylindrical POH.

Conical holographic display to expand the vertical field of view

Zhenxing Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new holographic display method to expand the vertical field of view in cylindrical holography by using a conical holographic diffraction model. The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified through simulations, and the relationship between the conical inclination angle and the vertical FOV expansion is analyzed.
