Synthesis of CZTS kesterite by pH adjustment in order to improve the performance of CZTS thin film for photovoltaic applications

Muhammad Aamir Shafi et al.

Summary: Quaternary CZTS (Cu2ZnSnS4) kesterite thin layers were successfully prepared by electrochemical deposition. The pH adjustment was found to have significant effects on the grain size, surface morphology, and band gap of the CZTS thin films. The variation in pH was found to affect both the stability and performance of the high-quality CZTS absorber layer.

Effect of deposition cycles on the properties of ZnO thin films deposited by spin coating method for CZTS-based solar cells

Amal Bouich et al.

Summary: In this study, ZnO thin films with different thicknesses were prepared using the spin-coating technique. The polycrystalline nature of the films was characterized by XRD analysis. By varying the number of spin coatings, ZnO films with dense and smooth surfaces, good crystallinity, and increasing band gap were obtained. Annealing also played a role in the band gap variation. Simulation using SCAPS-1D software was used to evaluate the effect of film cycles on solar cell performance.

EFFECT OF PARASITIC PARAMETERS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ON I-V AND P-V CHARACTERISTICS OF 1D5P MODEL SOLAR PV CELL USING LTSPICE-IV

Muhammad Aamir Shafi et al.

Summary: In this research, the electrical simulation of a 1D5P model solar cell using LTSpice-IV software was conducted. The study examined the effects of environmental conditions (temperature, solar irradiance) and parasitic parameters (series and shunt resistances) on the performance of the solar cell. The results showed that increasing temperature reduces the performance of the solar cell due to increased recombination phenomenon. On the other hand, increasing solar irradiance improves the performance of the solar cell. Additionally, different series and shunt resistances impact the IV and P-V characteristics of the solar cell.

Effect of buffer nature, absorber layer thickness and temperature on the performance of CISSe based solar cells, using SCAPS-1D simulation program

M. A. Ghebouli et al.

Summary: The performance of glass/Mo/CuInSSe(CISSe)/(Zn2SnO4, CdS, SnS2)/ZnO thin film structures for solar cells was studied, showing that CuInSSe absorber layer thin film solar cells have lower cost and comparable performance parameters to conventional cells. The temperature effect is less significant in solar cells with Zn2SnO4 buffer layer, and the average temperature gradient in CdS, SnS2, and Zn2SnO4 based cells was found to be -0.317 %/K, -0.533 %/K, and -0.539 %/K. The best performance with Zn2SnO4 buffer is attributed to its higher transmission in the short wavelength range due to its higher bandgap compared to CdS and SnS2.
