FA-GAN: Fused attentive generative adversarial networks for MRI image super-resolution

Mingfeng Jiang et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a framework called FA-GAN to generate super-resolution MR images from low-resolution ones, reducing scanning time effectively. By utilizing local fusion feature blocks, global feature fusion modules, and spectral normalization, important features of MR images are enhanced, leading to better reconstruction results compared to state-of-the-art methods.

Transfer learning enhanced generative adversarial networks for multi-channel MRI reconstruction

Jun Lv et al.

Summary: This study explored novel applications based on transfer learning using parallel imaging combined with the GAN model (PI-GAN), showing that transfer learning on brain tumor datasets could remove artifacts and yield smoother brain edges. Transfer learning results for knee and liver datasets were superior to those of the PI-GAN model trained with fewer training samples, although the learning process was slower in knee datasets compared to brain tumor datasets. Transfer learning improved reconstruction performance in models with acceleration factors of 2 and 6, with the AF=2 model showing better results. Transfer learning with pre-trained models helped address inconsistencies between training and test datasets and facilitated generalization to unseen data.

Task Transformer Network for Joint MRI Reconstruction and Super-Resolution

Chun-Mei Feng et al.

Summary: In this research, an end-to-end task transformer network (T2 Net) was proposed for joint MRI reconstruction and super-resolution, aiming to achieve higher-quality, super-resolved, and motion-artifacts-free images from highly undersampled and degenerated MRI data. Experimental results showed that the multi-task model significantly outperformed advanced sequential methods in terms of both quantitative and qualitative performance.
