Stripe phases in WSe2/WS2 moire superlattices

Chenhao Jin et al.

Summary: Stripe phases were identified in WSe2/WS2 moire superlattices using optical anisotropy and electronic compressibility measurements, with a distinctive 1/2 state assigned to an insulating stripe crystal phase. The study demonstrates that two-dimensional semiconductor moire superlattices are a versatile platform for studying stripe phases and their interactions with other symmetry breaking ground states.

Excitonic and Valley-Polarization Signatures of Fractional Correlated Electronic Phases in a WSe2/WS2 Moire Superlattice

Erfu Liu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that electron crystallization can modulate the absorption, emission, and valley dynamics of excitonic states in a moire superlattice. By measuring reflectance contrast, photoluminescence, and valley polarization, absorption modulation of intralayer moire excitons and luminescence modulation of interlayer trions was observed at various filling factors, with the valley polarization of interlayer trions being suppressed at certain fractional fillings.

Strong interaction between interlayer excitons and correlated electrons in WSe2/WS2 moire superlattice

Shengnan Miao et al.

Summary: Heterobilayers of transition metal dichalcogenides host moire superlattices that give rise to strong electron interactions. The study shows that increasing optical excitation power can amplify the photoluminescence of interlayer excitons and enhance valley polarization due to reduced mobility in certain correlated insulating states.
