Interface polarization in heterovalent core-shell nanocrystals

Byeong Guk Jeong et al.

Summary: This study presents an approach to control the potential profile of III-V-II-VI h-NCs by steering dipole densities at the interface, allowing for control of the optical and electrical characteristics of these heterostructured nanocrystals. The synthesis of h-NCs with atomic precision enables correlation of interfacial dipole moments with the crystals' photochemical stability and optoelectronic performance. Controlled synthesis of heterostructured III-V-II-VI nanocrystals demonstrates that dipole moments formed at the core-shell interface can tune the optoelectronic properties of these nanomaterials and their performance in light-emitting devices.

Luminescent Nanomaterials for Energy-Efficient Display and Healthcare

Manuel A. Triana et al.

Summary: Luminescent quantum dots (QDs) and perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) show great potential in advanced displays and light sources. They have been widely used in photoluminescence (PL)-based displays through color enhancement films and color converters. While QDs and PNCs are still being developed for electroluminescence (EL) devices, their applications in healthcare could accelerate their adoption. This paper analyzes QD color-conversion displays and the fabrication of efficient and stable PNC-polymer composites, and introduces the potential application of flexible QD light-emitting devices in healthcare. The challenges and future perspectives of utilizing QDs and PNCs in PL displays and QDs in EL applications in healthcare are discussed.

High-Resolution Colloidal Quantum Dot Film Photolithography via Atomic Layer Deposition of ZnO

Gi-Hwan Kim et al.

Summary: The study presents a conventional optical lithography process to enhance solvent resistance of QD films by reacting the QD film surface with diethylzinc (DEZ) precursors using atomic layer deposition. This allows for direct coating of photoresist (PR) on top of the QD film, enabling high-resolution patterning to be achieved. QD electroluminescence devices were fabricated, showing enhanced brightness and efficiency compared to reference QD-LED devices.

Jia-Ahn Pan et al.

Summary: A direct photopatterning approach for lead halide perovskite nanocrystals has been introduced, allowing for the creation of patterns through molecular cleavage after photoirradiation. Postpatterning ligand exchange results in increased photoluminescence quantum yields and emission wavelength tunability. The patterned nanocrystal films exhibit photoconductive behavior, indicating good electrical contact between the nanocrystals.
