Enhanced biaxial stretchability of wrinkled SiO2 thin films for stretchable encapsulation

Na-Hyang Kim et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the enhanced biaxial stretchability of highly impermeable SiO2 encapsulation thin film with wrinkle structures. It is found that the high elastic deformation limit of the SiO2 film helps stabilize the wrinkle structure, and the type of wrinkle structure is determined by the pre-strain method.

Highly Elastic and Corrosion-Resistive Metallic Glass Thin Films for Flexible Encapsulation

Jeong-Hyun Woo et al.

Summary: Ternary CuZrTi metallic glass thin films synthesized by sputtering are suggested as highly flexible and corrosion-resistant encapsulation materials. The films retain amorphous structure and do not oxidize even after 1000 hours in a harsh environment. The encapsulation performance is maintained even after repeated bending, indicating potential applications.

Effect and mechanism of encapsulation on aging characteristics of quantum-dot light-emitting diodes

Zinan Chen et al.

Summary: The efficiency and luminance evolution of quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) are greatly affected by encapsulation, with positive aging effects observed when encapsulated with ultraviolet curable resin. A physical and analytical model identified that the efficiency improvement is mainly due to the suppression of hole leakage current resulting from ZnMgO defects passivation. With further encapsulation with desiccant, the positive aging effect disappears, but incorporating desiccant after the positive aging process results in improved performance metrics, showcasing the potential for efficient and stable QLEDs.

Amorphous Alumina Film Robust under Cyclic Deformation: a Highly Impermeable and a Highly Flexible Encapsulation Material

Jeong-Hyun Woo et al.

Summary: The study suggests that a transparent and low-temperature synthetic alumina single layer can be used as a highly impermeable and flexible encapsulation material for flexible organic solar cells. Organic solar cells encapsulated with alumina films can maintain 80% of initial efficiency even after cyclic bending with a 4 mm bending radius for 2 weeks.
