Rational design of ZnMn2O4 nanoparticles on carbon nanotubes for high-rate and durable aqueous zinc-ion batteries

Fei Gao et al.

Summary: A one-step hydrothermal method is used to synthesize ZnMn2O4 (ZMO) nanoparticles/carbon nanotubes (ZMO/CNTs) composite for stable high-rate zinc-ion storage. The high electrical conductive CNTs and small ZMO particles enhance the electrical conductivity of the composite, and the flexible CNTs network and strong interface interaction suppress structural degradation. The ZMO/CNTs composite exhibits high rate capability and long-term cycling stability.

Tunable oxygen vacancy concentration in vanadium oxide as mass-produced cathode for aqueous zinc-ion batteries

Yehong Du et al.

Summary: In this study, a scalable fabrication strategy for high-performance electrode with tunable Vo concentration was proposed, overcoming the scarcity of suitable Vo incorporation preparation strategies. Experimental and theoretical calculations showed that excessive Vo concentration beyond 20.3% led to a decline in electrochemical performance of the electrode.
