Galactic tides and the Crater II dwarf spheroidal: a challenge to LCDM?

Recent studies favor the tidal interpretation, but our simulations show that while tides can explain the low velocity dispersion, they cannot account for the large size of Crater II. This suggests that either the system is not bound and near equilibrium, or the assumed NFW profile for its progenitor halo is incorrect. The latter possibility may indicate that baryonic effects or deviations from the LCDM paradigm play a role in extremely faint dwarfs.
