The hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of SLM 718 alloy pre-precipitated with delta phase were studied. The results showed that the deformation parameters had a significant effect on the flow behavior of the alloy. The presence of the delta phase hindered the deformation process, causing accumulation of dislocations and resulting in fracture and bending of the delta phase.
In this work, the hot deformation behavior of SLM 718 alloy pre-precipitated with delta phase was studied by uniaxial compression test, and the microstructure evolution of the alloys was analyzed in detail by back-scattered electron contrast (BSE), electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the deformation parameters have a significant effect on the flow behavior of the alloys. The influence of deformation parameters on DRX volume fraction and DRX grain has certain difference. Due to the delta phase hindrance, dislocations will accumulate near delta phase during deformation, resulting in fracture and bending of delta phase. The stacking dislocation can be transformed into subgrains and formed the DRX grains by rotation.
