Synthesis of CZTS thin films from binary precursors stacking by chemical bath deposition for solar cell applications

C. A. Macias-Cabrera et al.

Summary: Kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 thin films were successfully synthesized using chemical bath deposition without the sulfurization/selenization process. The optoelectronic characteristics of the samples were similar to those of kesterite-type semiconductors synthesized by other methods, with a bandgap ranging from 1.45 to 1.49 eV and a conductivity of 10-3(X cm)-1 depending on thermal treatment conditions. An appropriate thermal treatment temperature of 450 degrees C was identified for achieving suitable optoelectronic characteristics for solar cell applications.
