Impact of ZnO and Fe3O4 magnetic nanoscale on the methyl violet 2B removal efficiency of the activated carbon oak wood

Rauf Foroutan et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that modified activated carbon significantly improved the removal efficiency of dyes, the adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity of MV2B by ACOW600, ACOW600/ZnO, and ACOW600/ZnO/Fe3O4 increased successively, indicating good reusability of the adsorbents in the dye removal process.

Summary: The adsorption of Malachite Green onto natural red clay was studied, with maximum adsorption occurring at pH ranging from 6.0 to 10.0. The pseudo second order kinetic model fits well with the experimental values obtained, while the adsorption equilibrium data show good agreement with the Freundlich isotherm model, with a maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 84.75 mg/g.

Hojat Veisi et al.

Summary: This study involves the novel synthesis of Au nanoparticles decorated biguanidine modified mesoporous silica KIT-5 using a post-functionalization approach. The material was found to be an efficient catalyst in the reductive degradation of harmful water contaminating organic dyes at room temperature in the presence of NaBH4. All reactions followed pseudo-unimolecular kinetics, with the rate constant being dependent on the catalyst load.

Synthesis of wheat bran sawdust/Fe3O4 composite for the removal of methylene blue and methyl violet

Hossein Pooladi et al.

Summary: Recently, magnetically modified nanomaterials have attracted attention in wastewater treatment. A composite of wheat bran sawdust/Fe3O4 was studied for its ability to effectively adsorb methylene blue and methyl violet dyes from aqueous solution. The composite exhibited paramagnetic properties with high removal efficiency, and the Langmuir model best described the equilibrium behavior of the adsorption process, while the pseudo-second-order kinetic model was followed.

Efficient batch and Fixed-Bed sequestration of a basic dye using a novel variant of ordered mesoporous carbon as adsorbent

Asna Mariyam et al.

Summary: An ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) material was prepared and investigated for its adsorptive potential towards the cationic dye 'Methylene Blue' (MB). Adsorption behavior was influenced by factors such as pH, dye concentration, adsorbent quantity, and contact time. OMC showed high efficiency and stability in removing MB, with almost 100% dye recovery achieved in the first cycle of desorption.
