Correlation Analysis between Land-Use/Cover Change and Coastal Subsidence in the Yellow River Delta, China: Reviewing the Past and Prospecting the Future

Yi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study examined the subsidence characteristics of different land-use types in the Yellow River Delta using a 30-year satellite-observed time series and InSAR-derived data. It found that the coastal area is experiencing noticeable subsidence due to human activities, with the salt fields showing the highest subsidence rates and expected expansion in the future. Planning environmental protection strategies to address the ecological vulnerability of the Yellow River Delta coastal zone should be a priority.
