Summary: This study demonstrates that empagliflozin treatment can reduce glucose, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in NAFLD mice, decrease hepatic lipogenic and inflammatory gene expression, and attenuate NAFLD progression by promoting autophagy, reducing ER stress, and inhibiting apoptosis in the liver.
