Informal treatment facilities that develop in countries without regulations have serious consequences for the environment and the health of workers and communities. This review focuses on various aspects of WEEE plastic management, including legal frameworks, methods for determining BFRs in industrial processes, and the health and environmental impacts associated with BFR/NBFR presence in waste, consumer products, and recycling facilities.
