A Transformable Amphiphilic and Block Polymer-Dendron Conjugate for Enhanced Tumor Penetration and Retention with Cellular Homeostasis Perturbation via Membrane Flow

Lei Gu et al.

Summary: Efficient penetration and retention of therapeutic agents in tumor tissues can be achieved through rational design of drug delivery systems. In this study, a polymer-dendron conjugate is proposed, which undergoes a structural transformation triggered by a specific enzyme, leading to the release of therapeutic agents and interaction with tumor cell membranes for deep penetration and prolonged retention in the tumor tissues. Additionally, this conjugate disrupts cell homeostasis, making tumor cells more susceptible to photodynamic therapy.

Determination of the activation parameters for the ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone initiated by Sn(II) and Zn(II) chlorides using the fast technique of DSC

Winita Punyodom et al.

Summary: The kinetics of the ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone initiated by tin(II) chloride and zinc(II) chloride were thoroughly investigated using DSC. The activation parameters were successfully determined utilizing the transition state theory and isoconversional method, showing that tin(II) chloride exhibited higher reactivity compared to zinc(II) chloride. The study provided valuable insights into the transition state formulation in the ROP of cyclic esters with different initiating systems, which is essential for future research in this field.
