Construction of hierarchical polypyrrole coated copper-catecholate grown on poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) fibers for high-performance supercapacitors

Xiaoyu Li et al.

Summary: Fiber-shaped supercapacitors are considered as the optimal choice for wearable energy devices due to their high safety and excellent electrochemical stability. To improve their specific capacitances, a ternary composite fiber-shaped electrode was designed by growing metal organic framework on a polymer fiber surface and depositing polypyrrole. The resulting electrode showed higher capacitance and improved stability, demonstrating the feasibility of wearable supercapacitors.

All-Printed Green Micro-Supercapacitors Based on a Natural-derived Ionic Liquid for Flexible Transient Electronics

Lorenzo Migliorini et al.

Summary: An all-printed fabrication process was used to create green, flexible, and ultra-thin supercapacitors capable of operating above 1.5 V. These supercapacitors, produced by aqueous spray casting and supersonic cluster beam deposition (SCBD), are stable to bending and have power values up to 120 kW kg(-1). This combination of fabrication techniques offers a versatile, scalable, and eco-friendly process for printing interconnected elements suitable for transient electronic systems.
